The College of Engineering received visiting staff and students from the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) on Monday 5th August 2019. The students are here on the annual World Friends ICT Volunteers Program. This collaboration between KNUST and UNIST started in the year 2018 and this is the second in a series. The visiting group is made up of Miss Haeni Kim of the Center for International Affairs and 8 Korean students. They are assisted by a Ghanaian student who is studying Biology at UNIST. He is a final year student in the person of Rene Owusu Afram.
They arrived on campus over the weekend on 3rdAugust, 2019 and were officially welcomed by the Acting Provost of the College of Engineering, Prof. Eric Forkuor, Dr. J.J. Kponyo (Program Coordinator), Dr. A.A. Adjaottor (International Students’ Officer of the College), Dr. Frank Agyemang (a Project Supervisor) and some engineering students and Teaching Assistants.
The students will be engaged in a couple of projects in the college for the next three weeks. They will be working on perfecting a drone designed for agricultural purposes and a waste sorting prototype.
