Samuel Ato Andam-Akorful is a senior lecturer at the Department of Geomatic Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He obtained a PhD in Geodesy and Survey Engineering at Hohai University, Nanging China, and a masters in Navigation Technology at the University of Nottingham, UK. His research interest lies in geospatial analytics with varied applications in health, transport, environment, water and climate.

He is a member of the Group on Earth Observation (GEO) Land Degradation Neutrality Working Group and a fellow at the World Bank Africa Centre of Excellence Regional Transport Research and Education Centre, Kumasi (TRECK). He belong to the Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors as well as the American Geophysical Union. He is also a licensed surveyor and a member of the Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana.
