The Ghana Engineering Students’ Association (GESA-KNUST) has again taken a bold step in equipping students with essential leadership, technical, and networking skills through the Lead & Link 2025 event. Spanning over three impactful days, this event was carefully designed to provide engineering students with practical tools for self-development, career growth, and leadership excellence.
Day 1: TECH TOOLS – Leveraging Technology for Leadership
The journey began with TECH TOOLS, a hands-on session to integrate digital skills into leadership and management. Held at the FECE Lab on February 7, 2025, participants engaged in interactive workshops covering:
Prompt Engineering – Exploring AI-driven automation for problem-solving
Canva for Visual Communication – Mastering design for impactful presentations
Project Management with Google Tools – Organizing tasks effectively using Google Meet & Sheets
LinkedIn Optimization – Enhancing personal branding for career opportunities
This session gave students a competitive edge in the tech industry by equipping them with practical skills to navigate digital spaces efficiently.
Day 2: Lead & Link Workshop – Inspiring Leadership Journeys
The second day featured the Lead & Link Workshop, a high-level panel discussion on leadership and personal development. Hosted at the NEB Ground Floor on February 8, 2025, this session was structured around two thought-provoking topics:
"Journey of Self-Discovery in Leadership" – A deep dive into understanding personal strengths, values, and leadership potential.
"Purpose-Driven Leadership" – Emphasizing the role of vision, resilience, and passion in leading successful initiatives.
Distinguished speakers, including industry experts, entrepreneurs, and national leaders, shared insights on navigating leadership roles while maintaining ethical and strategic focus. The engagement between speakers and students sparked meaningful conversations about career aspirations, innovation, and making an impact in society.
Day 3: Lead & Link – A Relaxed Networking Hangout
After two days of intense learning, participants enjoyed an informal networking hangout. This social event provided a relaxed atmosphere where students could connect, reflect on lessons learned, and form new relationships. Laughter, discussions, and shared aspirations filled the air as attendees celebrated their growth over the past two days.
A Resounding Success!
Lead & Link 2025 was more than just an event—it was a movement towards cultivating well-rounded engineering leaders. Through tech workshops, leadership discussions, and networking opportunities, GESA-KNUST successfully fostered a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and self-improvement among its members.
