MODEC Production Services Ghana JV Ltd. and the Department of Petroleum Engineering, KNUST, have completed the second phase of the pioneering Faculty Internship Program in the upstream oil and gas sector, marking an important milestone in staff development and industry-academia collaboration. In this phase, three faculty members, Dr. Caspar Daniel Adenutsi, Dr. Samuel Erzuah and Dr. Jonathan Atuquaye Quaye underwent training and certification in International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) and Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), followed by offshore experience aboard the FPSO Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, where they observed MODEC’s operations firsthand.

This initiative forms part of a broader collaboration outlined in an MoU signed between MODEC Production Services Ghana JV Ltd. and KNUST, last year, which has already yielded remarkable progress. The Faculty Internship Program aims to equip academic staff with practical industry insights to design industry-aligned curricula, initiate impactful research, and integrate real-world knowledge into teaching, ultimately producing field-ready engineers and industry-relevant research.
