Dr. (Mrs.) Bennetta Koomson, a Senior Lecturer in the esteemed Department of Materials Engineering, shares her thoughts on her recent teaching experience during the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.
“The past semester has been nothing short of exceptional, largely attributed to a remarkable development—installing state-of-the-art audiovisual systems and projectors across all classrooms within the College of Engineering. This significant enhancement has added a new dimension to the teaching and learning environment. One noteworthy instance that stands out is a class accommodating over 300 students. Students often grapple with audibility issues without these cutting-edge facilities, leading to potential learning impediments. However, with the implementation of these advanced tools, I found myself conducting engaging and interactive sessions with unprecedented ease. Witnessing how effortlessly students could hear me clearly and actively participate in discussions was remarkable. This transformation is emblematic of the positive impact that modern teaching infrastructure can have on the educational experience.”

She extended her heartfelt appreciation to the College of Engineering and the generous support from the management of KNUST for their visionary investment in the teaching and learning environment. She said their commitment to enhancing educational facilities has undeniably turned teaching into an exciting and productive endeavour.
“I look forward to the continued evolution of our academic landscape and the opportunities it brings for educators and students. We shall foster an environment where knowledge thrives, and excellence becomes the norm.”
