College Mentorship Programme Concludes Second Cohort

Friday, 16th January 2026, officially brought to a close the second cohort of the College Mentorship Programme, marking the successful completion of the programme’s second phase.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, mentors emphasized the importance of sustaining and strengthening the programme.  Some mentors noted wistfully that they would have greatly benefited from a similar opportunity during their own years as students at the College.

“I would say in general, it was a good programme, I would have loved to meet in person, to do building activities…” This was Alumna Jemi’s thoughts (a chemical engineer) about her preferred style of mentoring. She commended the College for a thoughtful initiative. Another Alumnus, Johnson Kotey shared how impressed he was with his mentees, stating that they were widely read.

The programme's success can be attributed to its rigorous selection process, which identified committed students and paired them with mentors from similar academic backgrounds. This approach enhanced the relevance and quality of the mentorship experience, ensuring that students received targeted guidance and support.

The College will publish a follow-up report in the coming weeks, featuring interviews with mentors and mentees to highlight outcomes and lessons from the cohort. As the programme looks to the future, it is clear that its impact will be felt for years to come.
