Aviation Internship

The College, KNUST, warmly recommends Crawley Aviation Consult (CAC) for its commitment to mentoring and training the next generation of Aerospace Engineers. A gesture the College recognises as both deliberate and deeply valued.

In an era where industry exposure can define the trajectory of young engineers, the College notes with pride that CAC, led by alumnus Ing. Benjamin Owusu, continues to create pathways for students of his alma mater. The firm hosted three students from the Department of Aerospace Engineering between 29th September and 24th October 2025: Agyare Bright Nana Yaw, Ahlijah Thelma Aseye, and Mensah Norris Adom.

During the first phase of training, the students were immersed in the regulatory architecture governing aviation in Ghana and beyond. They gained practical exposure to pragmatic processes like certification processes for aviation personnel and organisations, and safety management and auditing systems.

A second phase of training ran from 26th November to the 23rd of December 2025, with a fourth student, Katu Kweku Essel, joining the cohort. This stage deepened their experience through hands-on engagement with Air Operator Certificate (AOC) certification processes and the development of compliance statements for multiple airline clients. The students also had the opportunity to participate in work linked to operations based in São Tomé and Príncipe. They participated in regulatory translation and technical documentation preparation - a rare opportunity to witness how global aviation standards are interpreted and implemented across jurisdictions.

The College commends the initiative as a powerful example of alumni leadership in action - where professional success translates into institutional upliftment. By intentionally reserving space for KNUST students, CAC has not only strengthened industry-academia collaboration but has reinforced a culture where graduates return to lift those who follow.
