TBHEC – NPA Workshop on Clean Cooking and the Cylinder Recirculation Model

The Brew Hammond Energy Centre (TBHEC), in collaboration with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), recently hosted an event to showcase the future of safe and sustainable cooking in Ghana. The event under the theme “Towards Clean Cooking in Ghana: An Overview of the LPG Cylinder Recirculation Model” was held on Friday, 7th June 2024, at the New Engineering Block, College of Engineering, KNUST. Attendees gained valuable insights into the innovative LPG Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM), explored research opportunities, received answers to pressing questions, and leveraged business prospects. This model allows consumers to exchange empty LPG cylinders for filled ones at designated points, significantly reducing accidents at gas filling points in communal and residential areas.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts between KNUST and NPA to promote cleaner and safer cooking methods in Ghana. The CRM aims to enhance safety and sustainability by streamlining the LPG distribution process, thereby minimising the risks associated with traditional gas-filling methods.
