College of Engineering, KNUST Showcases Innovative Projects at the 54th GhIE Conference

 

The KNUST College of Engineering recently participated in the 54th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), held from 19th to 21st March 2024 at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra. The event provided a platform for the College to showcase its innovative projects and research initiatives.
Among the projects showcased were the KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP), the Regional Transport Research and Education Centre Kumasi (TRECK), the Brew Hammond Energy Center, and the KNUST College of Engineering Innovation Center. These projects were featured in a booth where printed brochures were distributed, and pull-ups were displayed to highlight their impactful research activities.

Faculty and students from the College also actively participated in the GhIE Conference by presenting on various topics. Some key presentations included discussions on artificial intelligence (AI) and the future of engineering, Ghana's electric vehicle policy as a pathway to sustainability, and Ghana's energy consumption towards a net-zero future. 
These presentations showcased the College's commitment to addressing current and future engineering challenges with innovative solutions.
The College of Engineering's presence at the GhIE Conference underscored its dedication to research excellence and its role as a leader in engineering education in Ghana. The projects and presentations highlighted the College's efforts to contribute to sustainable development and technological advancement in the country.
