During the visit, students observed the full operational cycle of Zipline’s autonomous drones known as “Zips” from preparation and launch to flight, delivery and return. The team explained the underlying aerospace technologies, including flight control systems, launch mechanisms, package drop techniques and ground recovery. Students also toured the command center, where real-time drone monitoring and communication take place.

This experience exposed students to the practical application of drone technology in the aerospace field and emphasized its impact on public health and emergency services. The visit highlighted the intersection of engineering, innovation, and humanitarian service, demonstrating how aerospace solutions can directly contribute to saving lives.

Overall, the tour reinforced the relevance of aerospace engineering in shaping a more efficient, innovative and compassionate world where technology is harnessed not only for advancement but also for the betterment of society.
