During the recent Special Faculty Board Meeting held by the Faculty of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering of the College of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on December 13, 2023, the faculty, led by Prof. Francis Kemausuor honoured Prof. George Yaw Obeng for his good work and great legacy he had left with the faculty. He was presented with a citation and smocks.
Prof. George Yaw Obeng is the immediate past dean of the Faculty. Prof. Obeng’s academic expertise encompasses teaching in areas such as production engineering, machine shop and factory design, engineering research methods, quantitative methods, and renewable/sustainable energy applications tailored for the developing world. Prof. Obeng's primary research focuses on renewable energy, including solar and bioenergy, emissions, and engineering design.
Prof. Obeng's academic journey extends beyond the borders of Ghana, as he has held esteemed positions such as a Barrett Global Fellow and Senior Sustainability Fellow at the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, Arizona State University, USA
