The Academic Journey Ahead at the College of Engineering, KNUST

The year 2025 is set to be a remarkable chapter for the College of Engineering at KNUST, filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and celebration.

The journey begins in January, with the vibrant energy of students returning to campus. Continuing students resume their studies on January 11th, with lectures commencing on January 13th. First-year students arrived on January 14th, stepping into a world of possibilities. Their first days on campus were occupied with biometric registration and medical examinations, extending through early February. Orientation programs, both virtual and residential, provided essential guidance, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported as they navigate their new environment.

February marks a series of pivotal moments. Matriculation ceremonies on February 7th and 8th will officially induct first-year students into the university community. Postgraduate students will reach a key milestone on February 14th with the announcement of final results, celebrating their academic accomplishments. Mid-semester examinations from February 24th to 28th will test students’ progress and reinforce their educational journey.

March and April bring a spirit of dedication and achievement. A special congregation from March 12th to 15th will honour outstanding academic and professional accomplishments, inspiring the community to strive for excellence. As the semester progresses, lectures will conclude on April 4th, followed by final examinations from April 7th to 25th. By April 26th, students will leave campus, taking a well-deserved break before the second semester begins.

The pace resumes in May, with students returning on May 10th. Lectures will start on May 12th, ushering in a period of academic focus and growth. Key milestones, including mid-semester examinations in late June and lecturer assessments in July, will ensure that the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained.

August will bring the academic year to a close. Final examinations from August 4th to 22nd will challenge students to demonstrate their knowledge and growth. By August 23rd, students will depart equipped with new insights and experiences that prepare them for the future.

As the year winds down, academic staff will finalise results and prepare for the culminating event in November: the annual congregation from November 24th to 29th. Families and friends will gather to celebrate the achievements of graduates, a proud moment that embodies years of hard work and determination.

The 2025 academic calendar at the College of Engineering is more than just a series of dates. It is a narrative of resilience, discovery, and shared purpose, reflecting the college’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and personal development. The year ahead promises to be one of inspiration and transformation for the entire KNUST community.
