College of Engineering, KNUST Finalists in MESTI National Innovation Challenge


Three faculty members from the College of Engineering, KNUST, have advanced to the final stage of the Ministry of Environment Science and Technology (MESTI) National Innovation Challenge (NIC) competition.

Prof. Emmanuel Bobobee from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Dr. Yesuenyeagbe A. K. Fiagbe from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Henry Agbe from the Department of Materials Engineering have demonstrated outstanding innovation and expertise in their respective fields, earning them a spot in the final stage of the competition.

To mark this achievement, the college hosted a team from MESTI on 10th April 2024 for a due diligence mission with the finalists. The acting Provost, Prof Kwaku Amaning Adjei, expressed his delight at the high number of innovators from the college in the national competition and hoped that all three finalists would receive funding to bring their innovations to fruition.

Prof. Francis Kemausuor, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, reiterated the college's support for the finalists, stating that all award winners from the College and KNUST as a whole would receive necessary technical support, including project management, for successful implementation of their innovations.
The College congratulates Prof. Emmanuel Bobobee, Dr. Yesuenyeagbe A. K. Fiagbe, and Dr. Henry Agbe on their achievement and wishes them the best in the final stage of the competition.
