The Grand Finale of the maiden edition of Miss Ingenia, organised by the Ghana Engineering Students’ Association (GESA-KNUST), was held on Sunday, 10th August 2025, at the Kumapley Auditorium. This first-of-its-kind event marked a significant step in celebrating ingenuity, leadership, and elegance among women in engineering.
Senam, a first-year Industrial Engineering student, was crowned the first Miss Ingenia at the climax of the competition. Her project was focused on equipping young girls with practical automotive skills such as checking and changing engine oil and replacing car tyres.
The title of First Runner-Up went to Merlyn, a second-year Aerospace Engineering student, while Pokuaah, a first-year Electrical Engineering student, emerged as Second Runner-Up.
The distinguished panel of judges featured Comfort Awudie (Miss Philanthropy West Africa), Miss Kimberly Awuah (Business Influencer and CEO of Kimchi Enterprise), Madam Emmanuella Kwao-Boateng (WiNE KNUST Patron), and Emmanuella Asare (First Runner-Up of Ghana’s Most Beautiful).
The event was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), Former Minister for Education, Former Minister for Energy, and Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, whose attendance underscored the importance of empowering women in STEM.
As the first edition, Miss Ingenia 2025 set a remarkable precedent, establishing itself not just as a pageant but as a platform to inspire, empower, and highlight the innovation of women in engineering.
