The Provost of Clafin University, Prof. Karl S. Wright visited the College of Engineering on the 4th of February 2024 to meet with Management to discuss areas of mutual interest/collaboration in research, student and staff exchange.
Present at the meeting were Prof. Emmanuel Assuming Frimpong, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering who deputized for the Provost in his absence.
Also Present were Prof. Francis Kemausaur, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Kwaku Amaning Adjei, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Geo-Engineering, Mrs. Ida Saeed, the College Registrar. Prof. Geophrey Kwame Anornu the former Director for RWESCK was also present at the meeting.
Claflin University is a private historically black university in Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA, founded in 1869 after the American civil war by northern missionaries for the education of freedmen and their children. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees.
The main thrust of the discussions were on the establishment of general mechanisms for the two institutions to collaborate on research, education, and training activities as stipulated in the memorandum of understanding.
