The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST has empowered students to drive social transformation through education, mentorship, and entrepreneurial training. The college team emerged from this program with a unique solution to improve diabetic care in Africa. The team leverages an Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology-driven approach to enhance health management and outcomes of diabetes patients while exploring alternatives to other chronic illnesses.
The team was selected among over 100 who applied for the pitching competition. With the guidance of the Innovation Center Manager, Mr. Makafui, and Project supervisor, Prof Mensah-Darkwa, the team successfully made it through the training and pitching stages of the MasterCard Health Collaborative Project. Their vision extends beyond diabetic care, addressing broader chronic health challenges to drive improvements in healthcare and promote economic growth.
