Prof. David Ato Quansah, Director of the Brew-Hammond Energy Centre (TBHEC), and Dr. Yen Adams Sokama-Neuyam, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Lab (NCEL), visited Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) from January 11th to 17th, 2025, as part of a staff mobility program under the TU Delft Global Initiative. This visit marked a significant step in the implementation of the MoU signed between KNUST and TU Delft last year, with a strong focus on campus sustainability. The program included a tour of TU Delft’s Sustainable Campus, where discussions centred on KNUST’s transition from a Green Campus to a Green University. The visit provided valuable insights into energy and sustainability solutions, particularly emphasising renewable energy development, decarbonisation strategies, and shared challenges related to climate action.
Throughout the week, the KNUST delegation engaged with leading research groups at TU Delft, exchanging knowledge on energy system innovations, CO₂ capture, biomass recycling, and grid resilience. Their visit to The Green Village showcased cutting-edge sustainable technologies, such as solar PV-integrated facades and advanced cooling systems. These interactions are set to strengthen the partnership between KNUST and TU Delft, fostering collaboration on energy and sustainability research. The visit culminated in the 183rd Dies Natalis of TU Delft, reinforcing ties between researchers and highlighting the potential for co-creating a greener future.
