The visit of the KNUST Engineering Education Project(KEEP) Industrial and International Scientific Advisory Board to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was a momentous occasion, marked by a series of events that showcased the collaborative efforts between the University and its esteemed supporters.
On Wednesday, 22nd November 2023, the board members arrived at Kumasi International Airport at 3:00 pm. They were warmly welcomed by some Management members of KEEP. The group was then escorted to the luxurious Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi, where they stayed the duration of their visit.
The following day, Thursday, 23rd November, 2023, began with a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of the University. In a gracious welcome, the Vice Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support of the Advisory Board members given to the College of Engineering and the University as a whole. She highlighted the success of the College of Engineering Endowment Fund (KCEEF), attributing its leading position to the support of the advisory board. Seeking further collaboration, she shared ambitious plans for the future of the College.
After meeting with the Vice Chancellor, the board members proceeded to the KNUST Engineering Education Project (KEEP) Post Graduate Building, for a joint Advisory Board meeting with KEEP Management. Updates on the current status of the project were provided, and discussions ensued regarding progress and future steps. The itinerary continued with lunch at the Regional Water and Environmental Sanitation Centre Kumasi (RWESCK) cafeteria for the distinguished guests.
After lunch, the team toured the Thematic Laboratories in the College related to KEEP. The master's students in the various labs engaged with the board members, providing interesting information about their ongoing projects. The advisory board was highly impressed with the innovations in progress at the Innovation Centre. At the Virtual Infosec Africa Lab, where the intricacies of cybersecurity and training were revealed, the tour came to an end. The evening reached its pinnacle at the Great Hall, where the 12th R.P. Baffour public lecture was ongoing. The theme, "KNUST after 70: A new age for a renewed focus in an era of disruptive technologies," was expatiated by Mr. Joe Anokye, the Director General of the National Communications Authority. Following the lecture, the board returned to the Lancaster Hotel, retiring for the night.
Friday, 24th November 2023, commenced with a special congregation at the Great Hall, where two advisory board members, Ing. William Amuna and Ing. Asare Yeboah, were bestowed with honorary degrees by the Chancellor of the university, His Royal Majesty Otumfuor Nana Osei Tutu II. A celebratory lunch at the Vice Chancellor's residence followed.
In the afternoon, the board, accompanied by the KEEP graduates for the 2022/2023 academic year, gathered at the KEEP Postgraduate building for a photoshoot. The graduates were thrilled to interact with the esteemed members of the Advisory Board, seizing the opportunity to glean wisdom from the experience of the latter.

The day concluded with a special buffet dinner hosted by KEEP at the Lancaster Hotel. Board members were honored with plaques and words of appreciation for their continued support of the project. With memories made and bonds strengthened, the board members departed for Accra on the 25th of November 2023.
