Prof. Jerry John Kponyo, Principal Investigator and Scientific Director of the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL), who leads the AI thematic group of the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Academic Advisory Body, addressed the team on emerging trends in AI. The gathering, held in Geneva, convened ITU member countries, during which the academic advisory on emerging technologies presented their activities to help shape the global discourse and ensure that technological advancements benefit all of humanity.

The ITU’s Academic Advisory Body serves as a crucial think tank, tasked with producing forward-looking policy briefs and strategic analyses. Its mission is to strengthen the ITU’s foresight capabilities, ensuring that the international community is prepared to guide innovations like artificial intelligence toward equitable and sustainable outcomes.
