Meet Carl Kwarteng Danso, Student Entrepreneur

Carl Kwarteng Danso, known to many simply as Prof0 is the kind of person whose story feels quietly inevitable, as though technology had been waiting for him long before he discovered it.

He was born in Accra, but it was in Konongo that his character began to take shape. Growing up between these spaces, Carl learned early how to adapt, observe, and buildskills that would later define both his leadership and his craft. Faith anchored his journey, and to this day, Psalmist International Church remains a spiritual home where discipline, service, and purpose are continually reinforced.

Carl’s curiosity found its first real spark at Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC). There, immersed in science with a strong emphasis on ICT, he encountered programming not merely as lines of code, but as a language of possibility. While others saw computers as tools, Carl saw systems waiting to be improved. That curiosity matured into competence, and competence into ambition.

When he entered Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Carl did not blend into the crowd; he began to organise it. Excellence followed him naturally, earning him the Provost Excellence Award, but it was leadership that truly revealed his depth. From serving as a JCR executive to becoming the Organising Secretary of the Faculty of Computer and Electrical Engineering, Carl proved that influence, when paired with humility, could move institutions.

His leadership reached a defining point in his role as Head of the Trade and Technology Committee of GESA. Here, Carl stood at the intersection of innovation and service. He did not just manage systems, he reimagined them.

That re-imagination took tangible form during his internship at the Accra Digital Centre, where his interest in programming evolved into full-scale web development. Exposure to real-world technology sharpened his vision, and soon, that vision demanded execution.

Today, Carl is a co-founder of a state-of-the-art e-commerce platform called DOKOMI, built with his team to solve a simple but powerful problem: how students buy and sell on campus. Inspired by GESA’s vision to digitalise merchandise sales, the platform has grown into the official channel for GESA merchandise, serving over a thousand students and steadily redefining campus commerce. It is not just a product, it is proof of concept, evidence that student-driven innovation can scale and endure.

Through it all, Prof0 remains grounded. Engineer, leader, technologist, and believer his story is not one of sudden success, but of steady alignment between passion and purpose. And as his journey continues, one thing is clear: Carl Kwarteng Danso is not merely learning how systems work he is learning how to build the future within them.
