The College of Engineering, KNUST, organised a 3-day workshop for administrators and technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge in leveraging emerging technologies and AI to improve their work. The workshop, which took place from 5th to 8th March 2024, covered various topics to address the evolving needs of modern administrative and technical work environments.

The first day of the workshop focused on leveraging collaborative cloud and AI tools to enhance administrative and technical work. Participants learned how to harness the power of cloud-based solutions such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 for real-time collaboration and data analysis. Practical exercises and case studies were used to illustrate the practical applications of these technologies. 

Day two focused on automating administrative procedures, mainly on mail merge functionality in Microsoft Word. Participants learned to automate their daily tasks and activities using Google collaborative tools and Google Forms. The session also covered how to create personalised documents and automate administrative procedures. 

The final day of the workshop delved into advanced features of the Microsoft Office Suite. Participants learned advanced application functionalities such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data visualisation. Practical demonstrations and interactive exercises equipped staff with skills to optimise workflow efficiency and improve communication.

The 3-day workshop provided comprehensive training on leveraging collaborative cloud and AI tools, automating administrative procedures, and harnessing advanced features of the Microsoft Office Suite. By equipping participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience, the workshop aimed to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and empower individuals to adapt to the evolving demands of modern administrative and technical environments. 

Participants are encouraged to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in their respective roles, driving innovation and efficiency in the College.
